Nord v5.0 is a defiant proof-of-concept that biologically inspired spike dynamics can scale to the billion-parameter level on a shoestring budget. It achieves 33x fewer active neurons than GPT-2 while maintaining topic coherence, highlighting the massive energy-efficiency potential of SNNs. Features like "Triple-purpose Genesis Memory" and entropy-gated STDP allow the model to learn where and when to apply plasticity based on uncertainty.
