Grok Bot Voice Chat Gains Hey Grok Shortcut
An iOS tutorial shows how to use Shortcuts and Vocal Shortcuts to trigger Grok Bot’s voice chat with “Hey Grok,” without extra apps. It’s an automation workaround built around Grok’s existing voice capabilities, not a native wake-word feature. [Announcement](https://x.com/Texas_Twins_Dad/status/2114217410823688573)
// ANALYSIS
This is a clever example of platform-level automation making an AI assistant feel more ambient, though it still has iOS permissions and lock-screen limitations.
- –Uses Grok Bot’s “Start Voice Chat with Bot” shortcut action
- –Vocal Shortcuts provides the custom “Hey Grok” trigger
- –Face ID-unlocked phones can launch the flow hands-free
- –Locked devices may still require a confirmation tap
- –Availability may vary by iOS version, app version, and device
