Vercel Sandbox Adds Live Command Stdin
Vercel Sandbox now lets developers send input to running CLI processes and stdio MCP servers, including agent-browser. The SDK supports interactive writes, closing stdin, and piping readable streams into sandboxed commands.
This is a small API addition with outsized importance for agent infrastructure: sandboxes can now host genuinely interactive tools instead of only fire-and-forget processes.
- –Detached commands can keep stdin open for incremental interaction
- –`writeStdin()` and `closeStdin()` enable lifecycle control from application code
- –Readable stream support makes local or server-side piping straightforward
- –Stdio MCP servers and browser automation tools become practical sandbox workloads
- –The feature strengthens Vercel’s position as execution infrastructure for coding agents
