Moli Launches Lean Browser for AI Agents
Lexmount’s Rust-based headless browser gives AI agents a structure-first runtime for web extraction, automation, and JavaScript execution. Its hosted platform adds isolated cloud sessions, proxies, SDK access, and scaling without self-managed browser infrastructure.
Moli targets a real bottleneck in agent infrastructure: most browser tasks need DOM state, not a constantly rendered Chrome window.
- –On-demand layout and rendering can reduce memory use and cold-start latency for high-concurrency workloads.
- –CDP, Playwright, Puppeteer, WebDriver, and CLI support lower migration friction for existing automation stacks.
- –The trade-off is compatibility: Chromium remains the safer choice for extensions, persistent contexts, downloads, replay, and pixel-sensitive workflows.
- –Lexmount’s own benchmarks claim roughly one-seventh Chromium idle memory and five-times-faster cold starts, but developers should validate performance on their target sites.
- –The open-source engine plus managed cloud control plane gives teams a path from local experiments to production browser fleets.
