Electric Agents launches sync-native runtime
Electric SQL is launching Electric Agents, a new agent platform built around durable streams and live sync instead of ephemeral session state. The pitch is that multi-agent systems, collaboration, and agent supervision all become simpler when the agent is treated as data.
This is a strong architectural thesis, not just another agent framework. If Electric can make the durable-stream model ergonomic, it could be more useful for long-lived, collaborative agent workflows than the current grab bag of workflow runners, memory stores, and ad hoc pub/sub. It reframes agent sessions as addressable, resumable streams, makes fork/replay, shared observation, and multi-user collaboration first-class, and claims brownfield compatibility with existing web apps, APIs, and cloud compute. The open-source angle lowers adoption friction, but the real test is whether the sync layer stays simple under real production concurrency. It sits in the same broader wave as managed agents and agent infrastructure, but differentiates by making state and sync the core primitive.
