Abide Turns Agent Rules Into Checks
Abide compiles AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md instructions into a readable rubric, then uses Jev to evaluate coding-agent edits and request repairs for rule violations. It supports Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode. [GitHub](https://github.com/coldteadotai/abide)
Abide targets a real gap in AI-assisted development: agents can understand project rules yet still violate semantic constraints that linters cannot express. Its rubric-based approach is promising, but it is better viewed as an auditable feedback loop than a guaranteed enforcement barrier.
- –Jev evaluates the rule and diff with typed probabilities, while the rubric preserves each rule’s source file and line for auditability. [MrJev review](https://mrjev.com/projects/coldteadotai-abide/)
- –The project reports replaying 93 sessions and 1,256 edits, with 39 edits and 15 turns flagged for violations. [Benchmark](https://github.com/coldteadotai/abide/blob/master/benchmarks/replay/README.md)
- –Hooks for Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode make the concept applicable across today’s major coding agents. [GitHub](https://github.com/coldteadotai/abide)
- –A missing key or network failure lets edits proceed unchecked, so teams should monitor its event logs rather than treat Abide as a hard security gate. [GitHub](https://github.com/coldteadotai/abide)
