Hermes Agent v0.22 Goes Local
Hermes Agent v0.22 adds one-click local model support through llama.cpp, automatically selecting a model that fits your hardware without an account or API key. The release also adds app connectors, password-manager sign-ins, and a guided desktop onboarding flow.
This is a meaningful shift from configurable agent framework to approachable local-first assistant, though browser automation and hosted connectors still require network access.
- –Automatically matches models to available CPU, GPU, and RAM across Windows, macOS, and Linux
- –Keeps local-model prompts and responses on-device after model downloads complete
- –Adds connectors for apps such as Gmail, Linear, and Notion, plus named work and personal accounts
- –Browser agents can use 1Password, Bitwarden, or Hermes’s encrypted vault without exposing passwords to the model
- –The combination of local inference and computer-use tooling makes Hermes a stronger privacy-focused alternative to cloud-first agents
