DeliverBench Exposes AI Agents’ Delivery Gap
New arXiv preprint DeliverBench evaluates agents on 11 expert-reconstructed professional projects spanning 150 linked subtasks across finance, legal drafting, and drug safety. Across seven model-harness systems, the best final-delivery score reached 65/100, while only half of subtasks cleared a 90-point threshold.
DeliverBench asks the more commercially relevant question: can an agent preserve correctness, context, and traceability through an entire project? Its early results are sobering, though the small preprint suite makes this a strong signal rather than a universal leaderboard.
- –Chained subtasks and repeated client feedback expose error propagation that isolated evaluations routinely miss.
- –In one audit project, all seven systems addressed review findings, but only one preserved traceability.
- –Checkpoint and final-package scoring better reflects professional quality than rewarding locally correct answers.
- –Builders should test artifact lineage, unresolved issues, and revision consistency—not just individual task completion.
