Claude Code squeezes OpenClaw moat

This is more market thesis than clean product announcement, but it gets at a real shift: once Anthropic ships local background work plus cross-device handoff, OpenClaw stops looking like a novelty and starts looking like a feature backlog competitors are mining.

• –The open-source project remains more hackable and more ambitious, with plugins, browser control, cron-style automation, memory, and broad system access that go beyond a polished coding assistant
• –For developers, the real decision is polish versus flexibility: Claude Code offers tighter first-party UX, while OpenClaw offers a more customizable personal-agent operating layer
