Priors Adds FrontierPhysics Benchmark
Priors now tracks FrontierPhysics, an end-to-end benchmark testing AI agents on 56 research tasks across nine physics domains. The benchmark finds that even frontier systems struggle with rigorous reasoning and expert scientific judgment.
This is a meaningful upgrade from static knowledge tests toward evaluating whether agents can actually conduct scientific research.
- –Tasks come from 42 physicists’ real research workflows
- –Evaluation combines deterministic verifiers with expert-authored quality rubrics
- –The best configuration passed only 46 of 168 rollouts
- –Results point to judgment and rigor—not basic physics knowledge—as the main bottlenecks
- –Priors gives developers another evidence source for comparing research-capable agents
