OpenBot 0.39 expands agent collaboration
OpenBot 0.39.0 and 0.39.1 add smarter agent handoffs across Slack, Discord, and Telegram, plus server transfers, multi-account provider support, Vercel integration, screen capture, and isolated Docker instances.
OpenBot is evolving from a local agent workspace into an operating layer for teams of specialized agents. The routing improvements are the standout, but broader tooling also raises the importance of permissions, isolation, and operational hygiene.
- –Agents now answer simple channel questions directly and escalate only when another teammate’s tools, files, memory, or account are needed
- –The Transfer tool moves agents, routines, skills, memories, settings, and optional workspace files between servers, while excluding API keys, sign-ins, and chat history
- –Vercel integration gives agents practical deployment context by exposing projects, deployments, build logs, and runtime logs
- –Separate Codex, Claude, and Grok accounts let teams distribute usage limits across agents instead of forcing every workflow through one identity
- –Screen capture and multi-instance Docker support expand OpenBot’s automation surface, but make access controls and host isolation increasingly important
