Boosterpack launches x402 website-generation API
Boosterpack is an accountless x402-gated website-generation API that lets an agent pay once to kick off a background pipeline for finished local-business sites and later collect a signed ZIP export through a private status URL. It also ships a Google Places helper to resolve place IDs and seed the generator with richer business data, photos, and contact signals.
// ANALYSIS
This is a smarter x402 pitch than “pay for a JSON blob” because the payment buys an async artifact, so the protocol is tied to real work instead of a toy response.
- –Idempotency keys are the right move for paid jobs; they prevent double billing on retries and give clients a recovery path if the receipt never arrives.
- –The capability-token status URL is a neat privacy pattern: accountless polling without turning the build queue into a public directory.
- –Real enrichment is the moat here. Google Maps data, photo analysis, contact scraping, and LLM research should produce better sites than prompt-only builders.
- –x402 is most compelling when it launches long-running work that returns a durable artifact later, not just a tiny synchronous response.
- –The market is crowded, so Boosterpack has to win on output quality and trust, not just the novelty of HTTP 402.
