Lightpanda browser adds multipart file uploads
Lightpanda, an open-source Zig-based headless browser for AI agents, now supports form file uploads. Users can attach a file to a file input element and submit it, with the engine automatically encoding the submission as multipart/form-data.
Purpose-built headless browsers for AI agents are fast closing the feature gap with Chromium, rendering heavy browser environments less necessary for agentic web workflows.
- –Support for file uploads and native multipart/form-data encoding removes a significant barrier for scraping and automation scripts.
- –Lightweight, high-performance engines like Lightpanda are essential for scaling agentic AI pipelines that need to interact with the web at low resource costs.
- –Maintaining API compatibility with Playwright/Puppeteer ensures developers can easily integrate these optimizations into existing codebases.
