Netlify supports React Router 8
Netlify updated its React Router Vite plugin to support React Router 8 immediately after the framework’s release. Existing projects need the React Router 8 upgrade path plus @netlify/vite-plugin-react-router v4.0.0 or newer.
This is less flashy than a new AI feature, but it matters for teams shipping agent-built React apps because deployment adapters are where framework upgrades usually get painful.
- –React Router 8 raises the floor to Node.js 22.22.0+, React 19.2.7+, and Vite 7+, so build environments need attention before upgrading.
- –Netlify’s plugin keeps full framework support across serverless and edge functions, which reduces adapter churn for SSR apps.
- –Local platform emulation remains the practical win: agents and developers can test Netlify primitives inside the React Router dev flow.
- –The quick support window signals Netlify wants to stay credible for modern React meta-framework deployments, not just static hosting.
