OmniGraph Brings Git to Agent Memory
ModernRelay has open-sourced OmniGraph, an MIT-licensed graph database for durable, shared AI-agent memory. It combines typed graph schemas, hybrid retrieval, object-storage backing, and Git-style branches, commits, diffs, and merges.
OmniGraph’s strongest idea is making agent memory reviewable and reversible instead of an opaque pile of vector writes.
- –Each agent or task can work on an isolated branch before changes reach shared memory.
- –Graph, vector, and full-text retrieval in one runtime reduces the need to stitch together separate memory systems.
- –Typed schemas and Cedar policies add structure, provenance, and governance to agent-generated data.
- –MCP and TypeScript support make it practical to connect with coding agents and LLM hosts.
- –The Git metaphor is compelling, but graph merge semantics, stale facts, and ontology design will determine whether it works reliably at scale.
