Hi3D v1.0 open-sources 3D refinement
Hi3D v1.0 releases inference code and model weights for refining coarse 3D meshes with reference images, building on Sparc3D. The geometry-focused model supports refinement up to a 1536³ extraction grid, while texture generation remains separate.
Hi3D v1.0 is a meaningful step toward practical, locally deployable 3D asset pipelines, but its “open-source” label comes with real hardware and licensing caveats.
- –Developers can refine existing meshes rather than relying solely on image-to-3D generation.
- –The pipeline supports 512³, 1024³, and 1536³ refinement passes, enabling a quality-versus-cost tradeoff.
- –V1 generates geometry only; textures, materials, training code, and evaluation tooling are not included.
- –Local inference requires Linux, CUDA, and an NVIDIA Ampere-or-newer GPU; the highest-resolution path was validated on a 96 GB H20.
- –The custom Hi3D license permits commercial use but requires branding and additional licensing above 200,000 monthly users or $1 million in revenue.
