Claude Managed Agents adds dreaming, outcomes, orchestration
Anthropic is adding a research-preview “dreaming” process to Claude Managed Agents that reviews past sessions, extracts recurring patterns, and can refresh memory between runs. Outcomes, multi-agent orchestration, and webhooks are now in public beta for longer-running agent workflows.
Anthropic is turning agent infrastructure into a first-class runtime feature set, not just a prompt wrapper. The strategic move is clear: make memory, evaluation, and delegation native so teams spend less time stitching together glue code.
- –Dreaming is basically scheduled memory consolidation, which should help with recurring mistakes and team-wide preferences, but it also raises governance questions about what gets written back automatically
- –Outcomes shifts agents from “hope the output is good” to explicit success criteria, which is a much better fit for production and structured document workflows
- –Multi-agent orchestration is the real platform lock-in play: a lead agent plus specialist subagents gets Anthropic closer to an operating system for complex work
- –Webhooks make the system more usable for long-running, event-driven jobs instead of just interactive demos
- –The update is incremental, but it materially strengthens Claude’s position as an agent platform for production teams rather than a toy agent sandbox
