Claude builds interactive visuals in chat
Anthropic rolled out a beta update that lets Claude generate inline interactive charts, diagrams, and widgets inside responses instead of only static text or separate artifacts. The feature is available on Claude web and desktop, and follow-up prompts can update the same visual in place.
This is a real usability jump because Claude moves from plain chat output to interactive explanation and exploration without leaving the conversation.
- –Anthropic’s release notes explicitly list this feature on March 12, 2026, so it is a confirmed rollout, not just a Reddit anecdote.
- –Inline visuals make quick data analysis, systems explanation, and decision modeling faster for developers than text-only back-and-forth.
- –The new visuals complement Artifacts: chat visuals are fast and ephemeral, while Artifacts remain the persistent, shareable format.
- –Beta and platform limits (web/desktop) are the main constraint, but the core workflow fits developer usage well.
