IPATool 2.5 Adds visionOS Support, Retries
IPATool v2.5.0 adds visionOS search and downloads, app purchase listing, transient authentication retries, ZIP performance fixes, and improved macOS keychain access. The Go CLI helps Apple-platform developers search, license, and download encrypted IPA packages across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
IPATool turns Apple’s brittle App Store workflow into a scriptable acquisition pipeline, making it valuable for testing, archival, and reverse-engineering workflows. Its biggest weakness remains dependence on undocumented Apple endpoints, where backend changes can quickly break authentication. [Issue #530](https://github.com/majd/ipatool/issues/530)
- –`list-purchases` makes it easier to inventory account-owned apps before selecting binaries for testing or preservation.
- –visionOS support expands the tool beyond iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS into Apple’s newest platform.
- –JSON output, non-interactive execution, and cross-platform Go binaries make IPATool practical for automation.
- –Authentication retries and keychain fixes address operational friction rather than merely adding surface features.
- –Apple ID requirements and encrypted downloads mean IPATool is an acquisition tool, not a universal decryption or sideloading solution. [FAQ](https://github.com/majd/ipatool/wiki/FAQ)
