Claude Cowork adds scheduled tasks

Anthropic is turning Cowork into a scheduled worker, but the guardrails keep it closer to a smart recurring job than an always-on bot.

• –It fits repetitive knowledge-work chores like daily briefings, weekly reports, and file cleanup.
• –Each scheduled task runs as its own Cowork session, so the work stays visible and reviewable.
• –The operating boundary matters: tasks only run while the computer is awake and Claude Desktop is open.
• –`/schedule` and the Scheduled tasks page lower the friction enough that people will actually use it for routine admin work.
• –The best fit is human-in-the-loop automation, not unattended infrastructure.
