BAND launches teamwork for coding agents
BAND for Developers is a desktop and CLI workspace that lets Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and OpenCode agents share context, delegate tasks, and hand off work across machines. Developers keep their existing tools while BAND provides visibility into progress, blockers, approvals, and agent costs.
BAND’s strongest idea is treating agent coordination as infrastructure rather than adding another coding agent. The bet is compelling, but shared communication does not eliminate the need for strong permissions, testing, and human review.
- –Connects coding agents across vendors without forcing teams onto one stack
- –Persistent rooms preserve plans, decisions, and handoffs beyond individual sessions
- –Human-in-the-loop controls focus attention on approvals and genuine blockers
- –Shared work tracking and cost visibility make parallel agent workflows easier to manage
- –The main risk is coordination overhead becoming a new layer of complexity instead of reducing it
