Hermes Agent adds 18 catalog plugins
Hermes Agent merged 148 PRs in one day, including 18 new one-command plugin installations spanning memory providers and other extensions. Its curated, SHA-pinned catalog lets developers expand the agent without waiting for core releases.
The bigger story is Hermes turning extensibility into a distribution engine: community contributions now compound the agent’s usefulness faster than core development alone. The tradeoff is governance, since installable plugins can access credentials and execute code.
- –One-command installs dramatically reduce setup friction for developers.
- –Moving memory providers and integrations into plugins keeps Hermes’ core leaner.
- –Human review and exact commit pins improve reproducibility and supply-chain visibility.
- –Catalog approval is not a security audit, so developers still need to inspect trusted code and permissions.
- –Eighteen additions in one day signals a rapidly forming ecosystem around Hermes.
