Claude Max 20x Removes Five-Hour Cap
Anthropic says its $200/month Claude Max 20x plan no longer has a rolling five-hour session limit, improving continuity for heavy Claude and Claude Code users. Current documentation still lists weekly and other usage caps.
This is a meaningful quality-of-life upgrade for developers whose agentic coding sessions were repeatedly interrupted, but it is not the same as unlimited usage.
- –Removes the biggest short-term bottleneck for long-running Claude Code and Cowork workflows.
- –Weekly limits may remain the real constraint, letting power users exhaust their allowance faster.
- –Max 20x now sells continuity as much as raw capacity, which matters for bursty coding workloads.
- –Anthropic should publish clearer quota mechanics so developers can calculate whether the $200 tier actually fits their workload.
