Nebius expands Meta AI pact to $27B
Nebius announced on March 16, 2026 that Meta signed a new five-year AI infrastructure agreement worth up to approximately $27 billion. The deal combines $12 billion in dedicated Vera Rubin-based capacity plus up to $15 billion in additional cluster capacity commitments, with delivery starting in early 2027.
// ANALYSIS
Meta is effectively pre-booking next-gen AI compute, and Nebius is turning hyperscaler contracts into a fast path to top-tier cloud scale.
- –The agreement is structured so Nebius can sell capacity to third-party AI cloud customers first, with Meta purchasing remaining committed volume.
- –It builds on Nebius’s prior hyperscaler momentum, including its earlier multi-billion Microsoft infrastructure agreement.
- –For AI developers, this signals more Rubin-era capacity coming online, but the best supply will still likely be absorbed by large buyers first.
- –Execution risk is now the key variable: power, data-center delivery timelines, financing, and concentration around a few mega-customers.
