GitLab ships CVSS 10 critical patches
GitLab released 19.5.1 and backports on October 21, fixing a CVSS 10 unauthenticated remote-code-execution vulnerability alongside 11 additional security issues. Self-managed installations should upgrade immediately; GitLab.com is already patched.
This is an emergency maintenance release, not a routine point update—the vulnerability can hand unauthenticated attackers code execution on exposed GitLab servers.
- –CVE-2026-110264 affects specially crafted regular expressions and carries the maximum CVSS score of 10.0.
- –Fixes are available across seven supported release lines, including backports to 18.11.13, 19.0.10, 19.1.9, and 19.2.9.
- –GitLab also published detection rules for exploitation attempts, giving defenders a practical way to investigate before and after patching.
- –Teams should verify the running version, review logs, and prioritize internet-facing self-hosted instances.
