Motion 14.5 adds scoped animation cleanup
Motion 14.5 introduces `scopeMotion` and React’s `useScopeMotion`, grouping animations, gestures, listeners, and delayed work for unified cleanup. Developers can also scope selectors, set default transitions, and conditionally run animations through media-query shorthands.
This is a practical quality-of-life upgrade that makes Motion considerably safer for component-heavy interfaces.
- –Automatically cleans up animations, gestures, scroll listeners, and viewport listeners
- –Prevents selector collisions by scoping animations to a root element
- –Supports responsive behavior and reduced-motion preferences through simplified media queries
- –React integrations cancel and restore styles on unmount or dependency changes
- –Async work still requires explicit `scope.run()` or `scope.bind()` handling
