AgentDesk 1.0 launches local AI dev team
AgentDesk 1.0 is an open-source, local-first development workflow where planner, developer, and reviewer agents collaborate through Git branches, worktrees, automated checks, and human-controlled merges. It supports Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Ollama, and Claude Code CLI providers.
AgentDesk’s strongest idea is process control, not unchecked autonomy: every change is isolated, tested, reviewed, and ultimately merged by a human.
- –Planner, developer, and reviewer role separation creates a practical quality gate for multi-agent coding.
- –Branch-per-task worktrees reduce collisions and protect the main branch from experimental agent output.
- –Local hosting, encrypted keys, no telemetry, and spending caps improve privacy and cost control, though remote model providers may still receive project context.
- –Provider flexibility enables strong models for planning and review alongside cheaper or local models for implementation.
- –As a young hobby project, its real test will be reliability across messy repositories, failed checks, merge conflicts, and security-sensitive workflows.
