Synara teases redesigned model picker
Synara, an open-source, local-first desktop workspace designed for orchestrating AI coding agents, previewed an upcoming redesign of its model picker interface. Built to unify runtimes such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI into a single control plane, Synara uses the model picker to let developers switch between local providers, models, and reasoning effort levels while preserving session context during agent handoffs.
As multi-agent coding workflows mature, UI polish and seamless model switching will separate daily-driver tools from fragmented CLI setups.
- –Developers increasingly need fast, low-friction toggling between lightweight models and high-effort reasoning agents depending on task complexity.
- –Context-preserving provider handoffs depend heavily on an intuitive picker that accurately surfaces installed CLI tools and authenticated models.
- –Local-first control planes are differentiating themselves through native UX ergonomics rather than proprietary model weights.
