Tencent ARC releases pixel-aligned Pixal3D
Pixal3D uses ray back-projection to create 3D meshes that strictly match input image pixels. Built on the TRELLIS.2 backbone, it supports industry-standard exports for game engines and high-fidelity PBR textures.
Pixal3D solves the "hallucination" problem in 3D generation by grounding geometry directly in the input's coordinate space.
- –Pixel back-projection lifts 2D features into 3D volumes to ensure 1-to-1 fidelity with the source image.
- –Integrated with TRELLIS.2 for superior coarse-to-fine geometry and PBR texture synthesis.
- –Capability for object-separated scene reconstruction allows for extracting clean assets from single photos.
- –Exports to GLB, OBJ, and USDZ make it immediately usable for Unity and Unreal Engine pipelines.
- –Currently limited by an academic license and high GPU requirements (RTX 4090+ recommended).
