Bun Brings import.meta.glob Frontend Support
Bun says its next version will extend Vite-compatible import.meta.glob support to frontend workflows, enabling automatic discovery of routes, components, and other modules. The API turns literal glob patterns into lazy or eager imports at build time. [Bun Docs](https://bun.sh/docs/runtime/module-resolution)
This is a small feature with outsized migration value: missing Vite conveniences have been a real friction point for Bun-based frontend projects. [GitHub Discussion](https://github.com/oven-sh/bun/discussions/43881)
- –Reduces manual module registries for routes, plugins, content, and component catalogs.
- –Supports arrays, exclusions, eager imports, named exports, queries, and base paths.
- –Compile-time replacement keeps the feature fast, but glob arguments must remain literals.
- –Bun’s growing frontend parity strengthens its all-in-one runtime, bundler, package manager, and test-runner pitch. [Bun](https://bun.com/)
- –Developers should test watch and hot-reload behavior, since newly matching files may require the caller module to change.
