Claude Code adds automated GitHub PR review with specialized agents
Claude Code now includes a research-preview code review workflow for GitHub pull requests that uses specialized agents to inspect diffs for logic bugs, regressions, edge cases, and security issues. Reviews can run automatically on PR creation, on every push, or manually via `@claude review`, and findings are posted inline on the changed lines. The update is aimed at helping developers catch issues earlier and move code to merge faster without replacing existing review habits.
// ANALYSIS
This is a meaningful shift from “AI coding assistant” toward “AI reviewer,” which is where these tools start to feel operationally useful instead of novelty-driven.
- –Multiple agents review in parallel, then a verification step checks findings against actual code behavior to reduce false positives.
- –The workflow is GitHub-native: inline comments, configurable triggers, and manual invocation from a PR comment.
- –It is positioned as a Team/Enterprise feature in research preview, with separate usage billing, so this is more enterprise rollout than consumer launch.
- –The practical value is strongest for teams with high PR volume or expensive review bottlenecks; smaller repos may get more mileage from the manual mode.
