NotebookLM turns notes into cinematic videos
NotebookLM’s new Cinematic Video Overviews upgrade the product from narrated-slide summaries to a more immersive, story-driven format with richer visuals and animation. Google says the feature uses Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3 to make structural and stylistic decisions from your sources, aiming to produce videos that are easier to learn from and better suited for sharing.
This feels like NotebookLM making a real leap from “help me understand this” to “help me present this.” The big win is not just prettier output, but a clearer storytelling layer on top of source material.
- –Replaces the older narrated-slide feel with something closer to a finished explainer video.
- –Uses Gemini 3 plus image/video generation tooling to choose the narrative structure and visual style.
- –Strong fit for students, researchers, and teams turning dense source packs into something shareable.
- –Launch scope still looks gated: English only, web and mobile, and Google AI Ultra at rollout.
