Devin Review targets AI PR overload

Cognition has launched Devin Review, a GitHub pull request review tool built for the bigger, messier diffs produced by AI coding agents. It groups related changes, adds codebase-aware chat, flags likely bugs, and is currently free in early release for public and private GitHub PRs.

// ANALYSIS

Devin Review is a sharp bet on the next AI coding bottleneck: humans can generate code faster than they can confidently review it. The interesting part is not “AI reviews code,” but that Cognition is redesigning PR comprehension around agent-sized diffs instead of bolting another bot onto GitHub.

  • Intelligent diff organization tackles a real workflow failure in GitHub, where large PRs become unreadable when related edits are scattered alphabetically
  • Codebase-aware chat inside review is more useful than generic summary bots because reviewers can ask about code outside the diff without leaving the PR
  • The bug catcher plus Autofix push Devin Review beyond passive commentary toward an active review loop, which matters if AI-generated PR volume keeps rising
  • URL swapping to `devinreview.com` and the `npx devin-review` CLI lower friction enough that teams can try it without fully adopting the rest of Devin
