Cloudflare introduces Agent Development Lifecycle framework
While AI coding tools have made writing code exponentially faster and cheaper, downstream activities like code review, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance have overwhelmed existing software development workflows. To address this bottleneck, Cloudflare has introduced the Agent Development Lifecycle (ADL) framework along with dedicated platform primitives. ADL expands agent autonomy across the full engineering lifecycle by integrating Cloudflare Agents for managing deployed sessions, Agent Tracing for OpenTelemetry-compatible observability into agent reasoning and tool execution, Workflows for durable task orchestration, and governed standards via Cloudflare Codex.
