Canton DevHub 2.0 Unifies Builder Stack
Canton DevHub 2.0 consolidates documentation, MCP resources, partner SDKs, APIs, WalletConnect materials, DPM, and LocalNet tooling for Canton developers. Its companion Canton Builder Tool runs a full local Splice stack with validators, synchronizer, wallet UIs, Canton Coin, and Scan UI.
The real win is reduced onboarding friction: Canton is connecting discovery, AI-assisted development, and local execution into one builder journey. The tradeoff is that this remains a heavyweight infrastructure environment, not a lightweight sandbox.
- –MCP-enabled documentation could reduce stale or fragmented guidance in AI coding workflows.
- –The Builder Tool offers realistic multi-party testing without waiting for DevNet access.
- –WalletConnect, partner SDKs, APIs, and DPM cover the integration points needed for production-oriented dApps, as reflected in [Canton’s developer resources](https://www.canton.network/developer-resources).
- –Docker requires at least 8 GB of allocated memory, and first-time setup downloads substantial Canton and Splice images.
- –The tool complements rather than replaces cn-quickstart: it provides the network layer, while quickstart supplies an application template.
