Jev Skill Typeahead Goes Fully Open Source
Jev Skill Typeahead is an open-source Claude Code mod that predicts which skills or subagents Claude may use as developers type. After a brief pause, TypeSafe’s Jev model refines local keyword matches into a probability-ranked preview and can attach the selected candidate to the submitted prompt.
This is a smart UX layer for making agent behavior more legible, though its usefulness depends on prediction quality and acceptable latency.
- –Combines instant local matching with Jev, Claude Code’s built-in classifier, or keyword-only fallback.
- –Observes the skills and subagents Claude actually offers instead of scanning an arbitrary library.
- –The optional attach mode connects the preview to execution while avoiding stale suggestions after edits.
- –Keyed providers send the draft and candidate descriptions once per pause, making the no-key local mode important for privacy.
- –Supports terminal and desktop surfaces, but pasted prompts cannot reuse an earlier live decision.
