Meta rolls out Muse Spark Contemplating mode
Meta has begun rolling out "Contemplating mode" for its Muse Spark model, employing 16 parallel agents to synthesize complex answers. This new inference paradigm from Meta Superintelligence Labs aims to provide high-level reasoning without the latency typical of sequential deep-thinking models, marking a shift toward parallelized intelligence.
Meta is shifting the reasoning race from "thinking longer" to "thinking wider" through parallel agent orchestration. Parallel processing avoids the sequential latency bottleneck seen in models like OpenAI's o1 or Gemini Deep Think by distributing reasoning across 16 agents simultaneously. Muse Spark's performance on "Humanity's Last Exam" (50.2%) positions it as a direct threat to the GPT-5.4 and Gemini 3.1 ecosystems. By moving away from the open-source Llama lineage for this release, Meta signals a more aggressive, proprietary "personal superintelligence" strategy.
