Context.dev Adds Reusable Browser Profiles
Context.dev now lets agents authenticate once, receive a profile ID, and reuse that logged-in browser session across scrape requests without storing the password. The update extends its web-data API to login-gated pages with minimal browser orchestration. Announcement: https://x.com/michael_chomsky/status/2110912068144738461
This is a meaningful shift from stateless scraping toward agent-ready access to authenticated web apps.
- –Reusable profiles eliminate much of the Playwright, cookie, proxy, and session plumbing developers typically maintain.
- –Agents can reach private dashboards, member areas, and other login-gated sources through the same scrape workflow.
- –Keeping passwords out of storage is a strong security choice, but profile sessions still need expiration, revocation, and least-privilege controls.
- –Context.dev’s existing rendering, proxy escalation, retries, and structured extraction make authenticated access more useful as a production primitive. Context.dev: https://www.context.dev/
