Prompt2Rig Ships Real-Time Prompt-to-Rig Animation
Prompt2Rig turns text-described motions into generated video, recovers 3D movement with GVHMR on a local GPU, and retargets it live onto Mixamo characters. The Apache-2.0 prototype supports browser previews, streamed performances, finger tracking, and GLB export for Blender, Unity, or three.js.
Prompt2Rig makes generative motion capture feel interactive, but its “fully automated” promise still depends on carefully constrained footage and research-only dependencies.
- –H3 Max Turbo generates five-second clips in roughly 2–3 seconds, while FLUX 3 Max delivers higher fidelity in about 8–9 seconds.
- –MediaPipe provides immediate browser playback while GVHMR produces the higher-quality motion pass in roughly 3.5–4 seconds.
- –The HQ pipeline is not commercially turnkey because GVHMR, SMPL-X, WiLoR, and MANO carry non-commercial or restricted licenses; YOLO also introduces AGPL obligations.
- –Mixamo compatibility and GLB export make the project immediately useful to indie game, animation, and WebGL developers.
- –Monocular pose recovery remains weakest on flips, floor work, spins, and occluded or crossed limbs.
