FlyCity is an autonomous simulation featuring 100 digital fruit fly agents coexisting inside a single, shared, persistent 3D world. Developed by creator ShayanelH, each fly agent lives continuously and is endowed with an individual identity, unique personality traits, episodic memories, and dynamic physiological and social drives—including hunger, thirst, energy, health, and social connection—that guide its behavioral decisions in real time.
Simulating simpler organisms with comprehensive internal drives may unlock richer emergent ecological and social dynamics than overly complex human-centric agent sandboxes. Simulating simpler creatures like fruit flies keeps per-agent cognitive overhead manageable while enabling denser, continuous multi-agent environments.
