Claude Code adds agent view
Anthropic’s coding tool now has a single screen for all background sessions, showing what is running, blocked, or done. You can peek at the last turn, reply inline, or attach to a session without losing the overview.
This is the right abstraction once one coding agent becomes five. Anthropic is turning Claude Code from a chat-first tool into a session orchestrator for teams running parallel work.
- –`claude agents` gives operators one place to monitor many sessions instead of spelunking through transcripts
- –Peek-and-reply reduces supervision overhead, so blockers can be answered without fully attaching to a session
- –The feature is still a research preview, requires Claude Code v2.1.139 or later, and admins can disable it, so this is early but real
- –It fits Claude Code’s broader push toward parallelism: subagents for one conversation, agent view for many separate sessions
- –For teams, the practical value is fewer context switches and a clearer mental model of what the agent fleet is doing
