ZSky Explore bets on prompt-first scroll
ZSky Explore is a public gallery for AI images and video where prompts are visible by default, browsing is free without login, and the feed defaults to chronological order. It is trying to make discovery feel creator-first and remixable instead of algorithmically optimized.
// ANALYSIS
My take: this is the right anti-slop thesis, but chronology alone is not a durable discovery system at scale. The product looks strong as a clean top-of-funnel gallery, yet it will probably need some bounded curation layer before the feed gets buried under low-effort output.
- –Prompt visibility is the most defensible choice here: it lowers remix friction and makes the work legible, but it also turns the feed into a comparison surface for how things were made, not just what they look like.
- –No follow graph keeps the cards clean, but it also removes one of the few durable retention loops a non-algorithmic feed has; lightweight follows, bookmarks, or creator subscriptions would help without polluting the grid.
- –Pure newest-first sorting is great for freshness and bad for quality persistence; a “best of last 6 hours” or “best of last day” view would likely be the first useful hybrid.
- –Mixing image and video is smart for breadth, but only if scan speed stays high and autoplay never feels noisy; otherwise the feed becomes visually busy fast.
- –The worksafe, no-login browsing stance makes sense for mainstream discovery, though it will inevitably split the audience and push NSFW-heavy creators elsewhere.
