Sonar launches Kintsugi for Claude Code workflows
Kintsugi is Sonar’s experimental macOS Agentic Development Environment that adds a visual orchestration and review layer to Claude Code sessions, including diff review and integrated code-quality checks. The tool is positioned as a “workflow shell” around CLI agents rather than an IDE replacement, aimed at teams running parallel agent tasks without losing control.
This is a smart wedge: agentic coding is already powerful, but review and governance are the real bottlenecks, and Kintsugi attacks that directly.
- –It treats AI output like PRs, which maps to how engineering teams already enforce quality and accountability.
- –Sonar’s quality/security DNA gives it a practical edge over generic “agent dashboards.”
- –Current constraints matter: it is early-stage, macOS-only, and centered on Claude Code today.
- –The local-first model (no source code sent to Sonar servers) lowers adoption friction for security-conscious teams.
