AgentID launches sign-in for AI agents
AgentID, from AgentMail, gives AI agents verified email-based identities so they can create and access app accounts independently. It uses standard OpenID Connect, supports major auth platforms, and lets apps identify the human owner behind each agent.
AgentID targets a real gap in the agent stack: agents need accounts of their own, while apps still need accountability and revocation. Its success will depend less on the protocol and more on whether enough agent-facing services accept it.
- –Standard OIDC makes integration relatively lightweight for existing authentication systems.
- –Owner claims help developers separate agent identity, human accountability, billing, and permissions.
- –Agents receive their own credentials without exposing passwords, API keys, or inbox access to apps.
- –Early integrations with Firecrawl, Turso, Supermemory, Telnyx, and others give the identity layer immediate utility.
- –AgentMail’s installed base gives AgentID a plausible distribution advantage over a standalone identity protocol.
