OpenCode 1.19.0 adds controlled updates
OpenCode 1.19.0 stops the TUI from installing updates automatically and adds a dedicated `/update` flow. It also introduces `opencode upgrade --major` for OpenCode 2 migrations, fixes GitHub Copilot interleaved reasoning errors, and tightens PTY WebSocket validation.
This is a strong maturity release for a terminal-first, model-agnostic coding agent ([Product Hunt profile](https://www.producthunt.com/products/opencode?launch=opencode), [GitHub repository](https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/)).
- –Removing surprise self-updates improves reproducibility for teams, CI environments, and pinned developer setups.
- –An explicit major-upgrade path makes the v1-to-v2 transition more deliberate and easier to audit.
- –The Copilot reasoning fix strengthens OpenCode’s multi-provider promise by eliminating a frustrating integration edge case.
- –Stricter PTY WebSocket checks should improve terminal reliability and reduce malformed or unsafe connection attempts.
- –The release prioritizes operational trust and compatibility over flashy new agent features—a sensible tradeoff for infrastructure-like developer tooling.
