Lightpanda Agent Adds Keyless Web Search
Lightpanda Agent now uses Keenable’s public search endpoint by default when no search credentials are configured. The change replaces its DuckDuckGo SERP-scraping fallback with structured results in a zero-configuration setup.
This is a meaningful developer-experience upgrade: web search becomes usable immediately, though production users still need to consider public-endpoint reliability and limits.
- –Removes API-key friction for local Lightpanda Agent experiments
- –Structured search results should be cleaner and more dependable than scraped SERP HTML
- –Avoids relying on a search path that may conflict with DuckDuckGo’s robots.txt
- –The two-call, 19-second demo suggests a compact workflow for agent web research
- –Public infrastructure shifts the main risk from credential setup to rate limits, availability, and provider policy
