Plano ships local TUI, model routing
Plano 0.4.22 adds a local terminal UI for inspecting costs, request volume by model, and dynamic routing decisions. The update makes its policy-based router easier to debug in real workflows, not just in docs or dashboards.
// ANALYSIS
This is the kind of release that makes AI infra feel real: routing logic is only useful if operators can see why the system picked a model and what it cost.
- –The TUI turns abstract routing policy into an operator-facing feedback loop, which matters for cost control and model selection.
- –Per-model request and spend visibility is especially useful for teams running heterogeneous LLM stacks or swapping providers frequently.
- –The dynamic routing angle suggests Plano is leaning further into control-plane territory, not just proxy plumbing.
- –A terminal UI is a smart fit for developer tooling because it keeps the inspection loop close to the place people already run agent workflows.
- –If the policy engine is easy to tune from this surface, Plano gets more useful as a production debugging tool than as a static router.
