India secures Claude Mythos access
Anthropic has expanded Project Glasswing, its controlled cybersecurity initiative for the restricted Claude Mythos model, to include Indian entities such as CERT-In, TCS, and Infosys. The gated access aims to allow defensive hardening of critical digital infrastructure and enterprise software before the model's offensive capabilities become widely accessible.
Gating powerful offensive-capable models for selective partner access is a necessary step, but the distinction between defensive testing and offensive exploit generation remains extremely thin.
* Gated API access under Project Glasswing allows Anthropic to validate Claude Mythos' capabilities in real-world scenarios while limiting risk of outright proliferation.
* The inclusion of Indian agencies like CERT-In and major IT firms highlights India's strategic importance in global software supply chain security.
* Despite strict access controls, the dual-use nature of autonomous vulnerability discovery means that the model's defensive outputs could still be reverse-engineered or repurposed.
