TesterArmy e2e launches agentic app testing
TesterArmy released e2e, an open-source TypeScript framework for agent-driven end-to-end testing across web, iOS, and Android. Developers can combine natural-language agent goals with deterministic locators, assertions, screenshots, and MCP-powered workflows.
The compelling idea is the hybrid model: agents handle flexible UI navigation while conventional assertions preserve test precision. Its early success will depend on controlling model flakiness and CI cost.
- –Supports web browsers, iOS simulators, and Android emulators through extensible engines
- –Mixes agent actions with familiar APIs such as getByText, getByTestId, and expect
- –Replay caching can rerun verified actions without repeated model calls until the app changes
- –MCP integration lets Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents inspect and run tests
- –Bring-your-own model access via AI Gateway, OpenRouter, or existing subscriptions lowers provider lock-in
