AnimeGen drops open-source anime video model

Alibaba's Wan 2.2 is establishing itself as a premier base architecture for specialized, community-driven video fine-tunes. The open-source AI community is successfully shifting from general-purpose video generators to high-fidelity, domain-specific models like AnimeGen. Furthermore, public funding accelerators like Japan's GENIAC project are demonstrating tangible results by backing niche, culturally significant open-source initiatives. However, local inference of these models remains highly resource-heavy, and physical inconsistencies in details like fingers, hands, and eyes continue to be a persistent limitation.
